Bikes, and Ships, and Rivals OH MY!

As I began walking I recalled getting a bike voucher from Blaine. I decided to stop in and expected a fuss from the store manager. I waited in line and presented my coupon.

Uh huh..

Wait..

This is the best deal.

I rode my bike as much as possible. I used it for the long journey to Vermilion and a few trainers complimented me on it. Well.. before I beat their teams.

Along the way, I saw a rather damp and dark cave. I stepped inside and saw several hundred moles. I used my Pokédex as a light and they all cleared out except for three. I sent Tsunami out and captured them. They are all pretty bald so I'm going to name them Picard.

Boldly going where no Dugtrio has gone before.

I make my way to Vermilion and I see the huge cruise liner and can't wait to check it out. It's massive. I stop by the Pokémon Hospital and heal up my team. I stock up on some potions and antidotes and head on out.

I'm not supposed to be here.

It looked bigger from a distance.

I climb on board and begin looking for my room. I heard it's on the main floor so I inspect the cabins and I hope I don't walk in on anyo-

Yeah I'll get right on that.

As I leave crazy woman's room, I enter another wrong cabin. This time, housing a secret agent. Dressed like Dick Tracy minus the yellow, he alerts me to the fact that a member of Team Rocket might be on this very ship and that he is on their trail.
"to nothing good!" nice

I finally find my room and rest. The cruise is quite nice until I hear a large commotion outside. The ship is being taken over, but by who? I see a sign and it says captain's quarters. That would be a good place to start.

People are still running past me and evacuating the ship. I struggle to make it past the crowds and finally I reach the stairs up to his room when suddenly I hear a familiar voice. Bryan walks down the stairs and he is smiling.

"Are we hijacking things now Bryan?" "Imagine seeing you here! Glenn, were you really invited? I didn't think you were going to be here. I was just going to borrow the ship I swear." he says grinning. "I need to stop you." "Just try it."

I decide to use Tsunami for this battle. He is my strongest, besides Fish-Bulb, and he is ready for some revenge. He easily takes out the Raticate and Kadabra with a few bites. Bryan then sends out his Pigeotto and well a few water attacks and that one faints.

Finally it's down to his Ivysaur and Tsunami. I try to let Tsunami take him down but water is just so ineffective against grass that I have to switch him out. He understands and I send out Excalibird and Ivysaur is quickly taken out after that.

With the battle won, Bryan runs away carrying his Pokéballs and his tail between his legs. I go up the stairs and find the captain and he is tied to his chair. With the help of Daisy, I cut through the ropes and we free him. "We need to get this tub back on course!" he says and I agree with him. We get the ship back to harbor and he announces that it will sail someday soon.

His hands were literally tied.

Leaving the S. S. Anne I wonder why Bryan needed the ship and where he was going with it. I decide to put that on the back burner and make my way to the third gym. Lt. Surge awaits.

The gym is operated by electric Pokémon and that is it's specialty. The currents in the air are actually making the hair on my head stand on end.

Gonna give these switches some flips. Switches love flips.

I make my way through the switches and the other trainers to find the leader and it looks like he already knows about me.  "Welcome Glenn." "Hi.. so are we gonna battle and I win and you die? Is this how it's going to go down?" "To die in battle is a great honor in my opinion. So if you win I would gladly die knowing I lost to a worthy opponent. You're special kid. TAKE THIS!"
I know you are, but what am I? Wait..
Three on five? Easy.

I send out Picard because I have seen how electric is ineffective against ground. He sends out voltorb and Picard makes quick work of him. Magnemite is next. Same story.

Picard was doing so well that I figured that it Surge was terrible and I could beat him with anything. I take Picard out and send Fish-Bulb in his place.  Surge sends out Raichu and surprise attacks with Thunderbolt. Fish-Bulb looks me in the eye and knows it's the end. I'm sorry Fish-Bulb. I'm sorry that it had to end this way. RIP Fish-Bulb.

Surge high fives Raichu and that makes Tsunami and myself angry. I send Tsunami out and he sprays water all over the arena. He dodges all the electric attacks and chomps down on Raichu until it doesn't move any more.

Surge congratulates me and gives me the badge. He seems anxious, almost excited, like he wants the end to come. "...Where is it? I'm supposed to be a goner." Nothing but silence. No beeping. No collapsing of the gym. Nothing. He falls to his knees, shaking, and wonders what went wrong. While leaving the gym I can't help but start thinking about his fate and maybe that punishment was worse than death.
