The Game Corner

A mighty tower indeed.

After the battle with Lt. Surge, I made my way northeast to the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town and laid to rest a few of my friends. Minnie, Flappers, and Fish-Bulb. You will be missed.

I hope it's the last time I am here.

After having a huge weight off my shoulders, I head back west to Celadon where I know the gym leader Erika is expecting me. I hear she is a grass trainer. Thankfully Excalibird has my back and is strong against that type.

As I enter town I see a man. He is dressed in black. Could it be Blaine again? I rush over to him with a smile and as I try to greet him. I quickly realize that this man is not my friend.

You.. you are not Blaine.

I go to draw out one of my Pokéballs but he scurries off toward the south and dives into a building which says I need an "Official Coin Case Membership" I can't continue my hunt. I have finally met one of the terrorists. I have finally met a member of the infamous Team Rocket.

Realizing it's been a long trip, I decide not to pursue.. yet. I notice the Pokémon Hospital behind me and decide to rest my friends before I go head first into fighting an organized terrorist unit.

With that said I notice Daisy is looking pretty chipper and decide to take her with me to the Pokémart and my what a store it is. It's five stories high and filled with people. I could spend all day here.

As I'm walking someone notices Daisy and calls me over to the counter and offers a leaf stone so that it can get stronger. I look at Daisy and she smiles as best as possible and looks excited at the fact that it could become stronger.

I buy the stone and hand it to Daisy and watch the magic happen.

Here we go.

Awesome.

I thank the person at the counter and leave. As I head back to the Pokémon Center, I am stopped by a man who looks to be dressed in rags. "Money for the poor? Money for the poor?" he asks shaking a coin case. I ask him why he needs money. "I can win it all back at the slots! I swear I can I just need a few dolla- HEY!"

I take the case away and walk off ignoring his request to give him money and instead I use the coin case to go to the slots to see if I can earn some riches and maybe give him something as well. I buy 50 coins from the lady and it's kinda pricey.

Pokémon with a Las Vegas feel.

I head next door and I see that I can purchase Pokémon from the store and one catches my eye, however it's a bit expensive.

I could use a dragon. Sure.

Back to the casino once more and I sit down at a machine with my 50 coins and I hope that I can make enough through these means to earn a new friend.

Yes. Yes I do.

After an hour I have reached my goal of 4,600 coins. This is insanely easy. I don't know how anyone could lose their savings on this? I spent $1000 and got myself a brand new buddy.. Smaug.

Welcome to the team!

Daisy and Smaug quickly begin as friends and that makes me happy. I look at the coin case and notice I still have some leftover coins. I meet with the beggar from before and toss him the bag. Complete with 50 coins. "Third row, first chair." "Thank you." he smiles. I smile.

We walk to the casino so I can show him what seat it was and I see a familiar face from before peaking out from behind a few machines.

What hideout? You are the worst henchman!

Smaug and Daisy make an easy go of his team and he runs off. His Pokémon didn't listen to him. It was odd. Like he wasn't their real owner. I notice a switch on the wall.

Should I push it?

Who wouldn't?!

Looks perfectly safe.

Hey, it wasn't that hard!

I quickly dispatch the lowly Rocket grunt and wander around more. Hoping that I can find an answer to who they are and why they are here.
